A sport utility vehicle, or SUV, is an automobile which combines the towing capacity of a pick-up truck with some space to carry passengers like that of a minivan and is suited for on and off road ability. A few months ago, the Philippines launched its very own version of SUV, namely the Philippine Utility Vehicle (PhUV).

PhUV is a prototype and was designed, assembled and manufactured by the group effort of Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (MVPMAP), an organization of local auto parts makers. It was dubbed as the “tunay na sasakyang Pinoy” because of MVPMAP’s coming up with a utility vehicle that is designed and manufactured by Filipinos for Filipinos!
