The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Miguel de Benavides Library and Faculty of Pharmacy will host a conference on Filipino-Spanish contributions to the history of Philippine pharmacy, entitled “A Century of Pharmacy Dynamics, Ethics and Significs.” The convention will be held on February 8 to 9, 2010, at the Conference Hall of the Miguel de Benavides Library in the UST campus in España, Manila.
The topics to be discussed at the forum include the scope of pharmacy during the Spanish period and the medical products used at the time, as well as the development of chemical theories and pharmacy curricula through the years. There will also be lectures on medicinal plants and botanic gardens, notable Filipino pharmacists, and the practice of pharmacy in contemporary times.
